Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition (SNVBC) is dedicated to promoting safe and enjoyable cycling in Las Vegas. With its mild winter weather and abundance of scenic trails, Las Vegas is an excellent place for outdoor enthusiasts to explore on two wheels. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time rider, there are plenty of options for mountain and road biking in the area.
Where to Ride
Las Vegas offers some great options for mountain and road biking. Here are some of our favorite options around Las Vegas:
- Red Rock Canyon: This 13-mile loop offers breathtaking views of the red rock formations that Las Vegas is known for. The trail is relatively easy and is a great option for a leisurely ride.
- The River Mountains Loop Trail: This 35-mile loop takes you through the River Mountains, which offer panoramic views of the Las Vegas valley. The trail is relatively easy, but it’s a longer ride, so be prepared for a bit of a workout.
- Bootleg Canyon: This is a more challenging trail with steep climbs and technical descents. It’s an excellent option for experienced riders looking for a workout.
For a more complete list, check out the Trek Bikes website for a list of recommended rides in the area.
Plan Ahead
Safety should always be a top priority when riding. Always wear a helmet and let someone know your plans if you’re riding alone.
Check the forecast and dress appropriately. Bring enough food and water for your trip, and don’t forget to wear layers as temperatures can vary while riding.
Plan your route using the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s interactive bike map.
Find Friends
Joining a group ride can make your experience more enjoyable. Download the Strava app and ask to join the Las Vegas Group Rides or search for road and mountain biking groups on Facebook.
